Watering on Saturday and Sunday

If there are any Cale families at school this weekend, would you mind watering the plants in the cold frame? I'm going out of town this afternoon and will be unable to check on them. The stuff in the ground should be okay, but the cold frame dries out fairly quickly. I'll make sure they're good and wet before I leave today. There's a green plastic watering can and the rain barrel is full. I'd say use the hose but I need to get a new hose connector. Thanks!

Watering and Weeding

Wondering why we volunteered to do this at recess.

A recycled rain barrel is our on-site water reservoir. That way we don't have to unroll the hose every time we need to water.

Our cold frame made from recycled windows.

Also a huge thank you to Angelo.

I didn't have a chance in the pictures to thank another of our parent volunteers. Angelo Vangelopoulus is the owner/chef at The Ivy Inn. He's been providing help with keeping the kids focused (I affectionately call it "herding cats") and bringing us the most amazing snacks! Plus, he didn't even blink when he asked how much hose we'd need and I said, "350 feet." He just showed up the next week with the hose and snacks. It's really great to have volunteers like that!
